About the Instructor

Jaymie Lewis, T.C.R.G. began Irish dancing 20 years ago when her parents won a month of free lessons at an auction. Initially apprehensive, she fought going, but eventually agreed, and has loved it ever since. From a young age, Jaymie excelled at Irish dancing, performing and competing at regional, national, and international levels.

In 2001, Jaymie moved to Montana from Seattle, Washington to pursue a degree from Carroll College, and has been teaching Irish Dancing in Helena ever since. In the summer of 2008 Jaymie completed her Masters Degree in Education specializing in Special Education and was also recently awarded her T.C.R.G. certification from the Irish Dance Commission of Dublin, Ireland.

Jaymie says her true joy comes from teaching and seeing her students perform. She says her passion is dancing and she loves being able to give back to the community in a way not many others can. Along with teaching dance in Helena and Bozeman, Jaymie also teaches at the University of Montana, Missoula in their Irish Studies program, and dreams of one day opening a Multi-Cultural Community Center in Montana.
